Day 1: Trivandrum – Kovalam

Arrive in Trivandrum by flight

Upon arrival at Trivandrum International Airport, after clearing Immigration and Customs, you will be met and transferred to your Hotel in Kovalam

Your accommodation in Kovalam is for 03 nights including breakfast


Day 2: Kovalam

This morning you will be taken for a visit to Janardanaswamy Temple

Afternoon will be at leisure

This evening enjoy compulsory Christmas Eve dinner at your Hotel


Day 3: Kovalam

Full day at leisure to explore on your own

Day 4: Kovalam - Allepey (Houseboat)

This morning we will drive to Allepey, also known as “Venice of the East” because of the narrow canals and backwaters, to board your houseboat to cruise through the backwaters of Kerala.

Kerala backwaters consist of a complex network of lagoons, lakes, & canals and are best experienced while slowly rowing down the labyrinth of canals in a traditional thatch-roofed houseboat, known as 'Kettuvallam'.

See life on the banks, lush green rice fields, and coconut groves with occasional temple or church as you cruise through the canals. Enjoy the special Kerala style meals prepared by your chef on board.

Your accommodation is on-board the Houseboat (Deluxe) for 01 night including breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 5: Allepey (Houseboat) – Cochin

This morning you will disembark from Houseboat and then we drive to Cochin. On arrival, please check-in at your Hotel

In the evening visit the famous dance drama of Kerala, the “Kathakali”. This dance can be characterized by grotesque gesticulations, amazing costumes and very extensive make-up. The stories are mostly taken from the epics Mahabharatha and Ramayana.

Day 6: Cochin

This morning, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Cochin, Queen of the Arabian Sea by visiting "the Jewish Synagogue" at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town, "the St. Francis Church", the oldest European Church in India, "the Santa Cruz Basilica" originally built in 1557 by the Portuguese, the Dutch Palace and Spice market in narrow streets.

Also visit the "Chinese fishing nets" huge cantilevered fishing nets believed to have been brought to Kochi by Chinese traders.

Day 7: Cochin – Munnar

This morning we drive to Munnar. High up in the Cardamom Hills, the town is surrounded by rolling tea plantations, the highest in the world at 6000ft, and interspersed with planters' bungalows and grand old churches from the Raj era. There are many interesting walks around the plantations and hills. Trek through cardamom forests and landscaped tea shrubs. Take picnics besides scenic waterfalls or hill-tops with panoramic views.

Day 8: Munnar

This morning visit to Pothamedu, to see the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations of Munnar. Walk through the tea plantation and to the nearby factory as well to see the process of picking and packaging process of tea.

Also visit Devikulam, an idyllic hill station with its velvet lawns, exotic flora and fauna.

Afternoon will be at leisure to explore on your own

Day 9: Munnar – Periyar

This morning we drive to Periyar (also known as Thekkady). Periyar was named after the Dam erected here by the English in 1895. On arrival at Periyar, check-in at the hotel.

Later, we leave for a guided plantation tour to the nearby garden. In the evening enjoy the most popular boat trip at the National Park. There are many animals to see, including herds of elephants, bison and packs of wild boars that roam through the woods and parade along the shores of the lake just before sunrise and sunset.

This evening enjoy compulsory New Year Eve dinner at your Hotel

Day 10: Periyar 

Full day at leisure to explore scenic beauty of this place on your own

Day 11: Periyar – Madurai

Morning will be at leisure

This afternoon check-out from Hotel and then we drive to Madurai – the old city of Tamilnadu. "Madhuram" means "sweet" in Sanskrit. On arrival, check-in at Hotel.

Day 12: Madurai  

This morning, head for a sightseeing tour of Madurai, originally built around the Meenakshi temple. Though there are many temples in the city, Meenakshi temple outdoes all with its sheer magnificence and splendor of architecture. You can marvel the temple's flawless Dravidian Architecture and be a part of devotees who throng the temple from all over India. If you wished to have a bird's eye view of the city, you could also climb the southern Gopuram of the temple see to get a great view of the city.

Built in 1523 AD, Thirumalai Nayak Palace is an excellent example of Indo-Sarcenic architecture. Once four times larger than what is left of it today, the palace is only left with the main entrance gate, the dancing hall and the main hall.  Also visit Gandhi museum, which has some of the little known facts about Mahatma Gandhi. The museum has a real Gandhi Memorabilia in the form of a blood stained dhoti, which he was wearing at the time of his assassination. The museum is the repository of various testimonies relating to the freedom movement of India.

Late evening visit Meenakshi temple for Aarti ceremony.

Day 13: Madurai – Pondicherry

This morning we will take a long drive to Pondicherry, a charming coastal town that was formerly a French colony, still has a few touches of French culture.

Day 14: Pondicherry 

This morning go on a sightseeing tour to the French Tamil quarter and the world famous Sri Aurobindo Ashram, a spiritual center founded on modern sciences and yoga.

Day 15: Pondicherry – Mahaballipuram

This morning drive to Mahaballipuram. On arrival, please check-in at your Hotel

Your accommodation in Mahabalipuram is for 01 night including breakfast

Later in the afternoon, take the city tour of Mahabalipuram famous for the seven pagodas.

Day 16: Mahaballipuram – Kanchipuram – Chennai

This morning proceed to Kanchipuram– the ancient capital of the Pallavas, famous as a city of 1000 temples that still has 124 shrines. The first temple dedicated to Shiva was built in the 7th and 8th centuries and has paintings on the walls. Temples of Ekambaswara, Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are of interest.

After visiting Kanchipuram proceed for Chennai.

Day 17: Chennai

In the morning, visit Kapaleeshwar Temple. This ancient shrine dedicated to Shiva is centrally located and among the area’s most popular landmarks. Lord Shiva once pinched off one of the heads of Brahma to restrain his pride. A crestfallen Brahma came to this place, installed a Siva Lingam and did penance. The Lingam is known as Kapaleeswarar.

Later, visit the “National Art Gallery and Government Museum”, which houses a fine collection of items in various sections of geology, archaeology, numismatics, anthropology, botany and zoology. Later, visit Marina Beach, which extends from Fort St. George all the way to Mahabalipuram.

Afternoon will be at leisure.

Day 18: Chennai 

This early morning, at an appointed time, you will be collected from your Hotel and transferred to Chennai International Airport for your onward flight.
